The Yamaha Absolute Hybrid is the heir to the classic Absolute Maple but with all the technical advances that Yamaha has developed in recent years.
- Professional range
- Maple and wenge hybridshells
- Many of the PHK specifications
- Very versatile
Yamaha's Absolute Hybrid has inherited much of the hybrid shell technology employed in the PHK, making it at the cutting edge of drum manufacturing. In the Absolute Hybrid shells, the design consists of a central core of wenge, a very hard and heavy African wood, sandwiched between layers of maple, a wood known for the clarity of its sound. This hybrid design gives the drum parts a clear tone with a richness of timbre at any point in the dynamic range played.
A versatile sound with character for any style.
The shells
- Yamaha Absolute Hybrid shells are designed with a central core of wenge, a very hard and heavy African wood, sandwiched between layers of maple, a wood known for its clarity of sound. This hybrid design gives the drum parts a clear tone with a richness of timbre at any point in the dynamic range that is played.
- It incorporates the YESS III system that further reduces acoustic damping. By allowing the shell to vibrate more freely, the YESS III mount further enhances the sustain and natural volume of the shell.
- The shaft cut on the bass drum is different than that used on toms. The toms and snares use a 45°/R1.5 rim while the bass drum uses a 30°/R1.5 rim which brings out more bass tones and a deeper, more powerful sound.
- The shell interiors are coated with Yamaha's exclusive "Vintage Natural" finish to enhance the tone.
