The Rain Dove or Water Dove is part of the family of ethnic instruments that mimic the sounds of the Nature. Rain sticks have a very rich and exciting story. The native pre-Columbian Andean peoples used them in religious ceremonies and rituals to connect with their gods and the nature. The sound produced imitates the sound of the rain, and as such was considered sacred, the communities gave magical powers to this instrument of percussion. It was thought to create the sound of the rain would bring a storm and as such it was used in times of drought.
