Alloy
CuSn8 - 92% copper, 8% tin
The Giant Beats are made with Paiste's famous bronze alloy CuSn8, best known as bronze 2002. Paiste had been experimenting with alloy since the early 1960s, but the Giant Beats were the first cymbals marketed with this alloy.
In the late 1950s amplified music required the use of a new alloy because new styles produced much more volume. In 1963, Paiste showed that 8% of bronze was ideal for these requirements and has used this alloy for decades in many of its cymbals high-end.
