With the high-quality gong flumies of Olli Hess, you can get an incredible sound spectrum without leaving traces on the gong.
A flumi makes the gong fever by friction. This results in a completely different sound than a mallet. The singing of whales or dolphins or the famous "Om" mantra that the monks sing can be imitated with these flumies.

If you take the flumi in the hand, first you will feel a certain weight, namely, 185 grs. It works particularly well in the black area of the gong. But how is this tone really achieved? Very simple: the flumi head is made of rubber, a relatively soft material. The surface is rough for the rubber doesn't slide. The handle is made of fiberglass, a material that resists well the pressure the head over the gong. The end of the handle is covered with cork, which ensures safe attachment the hand. The diameter of the the head is 70 mm, due to relatively high weight, only low pressure is required the gong surface.
