The Shells
- In the shells of the Yamaha Absolute Hybrid, the design consists of a central core of wenge, a very hard and heavy African wood, intercalated between maple layers, wood known for the clarity of its sound. This hybrid design provides to the parts the drum a clear tone and with a great timbrian wealth at any point of the dynamic range that is touched.
- It incorporates the YESS III system that further reduces acoustic buffer. By allowing the Shell vine more freely, the stand YESS III enhances the sustain and the natural volume of Shell.
- The axis cut in the bass drum it's different from the one used in the toms. The toms and snare drums use a 45o/R1.5 edge while in the bass drum a 30o/R1.5 edge is used that brings more serious tones and a deeper, more powerful sound.
- The interiors of the shells are covered with Yamaha's exclusive "Vintage Natural" finish to improve the tone.
