Although 'Brilliant' refers to its finish, this series actually has a darker sound than the Byzance Traditional series. This darker sound is due to the finishing process that limits the upper end as the cymbal softens with its bright look. The combination of dark tones and warmth makes the Byzance Brilliant an excellent choice for virtually all styles, from funk and fusion to rock.

Alloy

The Byzance series by Meinl is made in Turkey with the famous B20 alloy and scrupulously following all the steps with which the best steps have been made for centuries cymbals of the world. This B20 alloy is composed of 80% copper and a  20% tin, a alloy that can be difficult to work as it requires a great reworking and recollecting due to its natural state that is very fragile.
