The brass alloy HCS cymbals look and sound great. Meinl specializes in making cymbals from many types of metal, so you can play all kinds of pop or rock with HCS and your sound will be warm and effective.
Construction
HCS cymbals are created from a brass alloy, MS63 (MS = Mint State, 63 = percentage of copper). Most major manufacturers use this formula for their entry-level cymbals because it is easy to work with and is a relatively inexpensive material.
Instead of casting, each cymbal is formed from a sheet of brass that is pressed into the desired shape, then lathed and hammered on the top surface and then and finally polished .
