The drummers used the hands differently when we touch brushes. That's why Russ Miller designed along with Vic Firth's engineers these brushes. One of them with medium caliber for the sweep and the another with the thickest caliber with the biggest bounce and thought for the ride. Also if you buy two pairs you will have 3 different types brushes, a pair of medium caliber, a pair of thick caliber and one with the two calibers.
